![]() ![]() In 2012, the book was ranked number 81 among all-time best children's novels in a survey published by School Library Journal, a US monthly. It received mixed reviews and was criticized for misogyny. The Witches was originally published by Jonathan Cape in London, with illustrations by Quentin Blake who had previously collaborated with Dahl. The witches are ruled by the vicious and powerful Grand High Witch, who arrives in England to organize her plan to turn all of the children there into mice. A dark fantasy, the story is set partly in Norway and partly in England, and features the experiences of a young English boy and his Norwegian grandmother in a world where child-hating societies of witches secretly exist in every country. simple quality of life update that I appreciate. The Witches is a 1983 children's novel by British author Roald Dahl. ![]() It's not exactly new functionality, but simple enough to now do in the frontend without having to touch configuration.yaml and the sensor works immediately without having to reload home assistant after editing configuration.yaml, etc. I can then use that sensor's state to set things like a light near the door to turn blue if music is playing, so I know whenever I'm leaving the house if I left a speaker on somewhere. Like in this example where I now have a binary_sensor to be on/off depending on if any of my sonos speakers are playing music. Now, I don't have to open the configuration.yaml file and work in there to create this type of sensor. You used to have to do this in the configuration.yaml file, like this example of a template sensor I have set up to help keep my sonos speakers volumes in sync (it stores the most recent volume of any of these speakers as a value, then an automation will set the volume for all 3 of them when this fake 'sensor' value changes). So for your presence sensor example, you could create a new template sensor helper which is "on" if mmwave or PIR or whatever else is on from other sensors, then your automations could use the new template sensor as conditions instead of looking at all 2, 3, or more sensors that combine into it. ![]() Not exactly, my automations work based on the state of this helper, but the state is updated automatically based on the template. ![]()
